Follower, Follower, Wherefore Art Thou Follower?’

To follow or to be followed, that is the question.

And to be honest, it is a hard question to answer, especially in today's society, because everyone wants to be famous and be an influencer. If you had asked me this question 5 years ago, I probably would have told you that I follow no one. I also would have told you that I interpret information myself to form my own opinion and then share it with others. While this may have been true, then it is definitely not accurate now.

As I've gotten older, I quickly learned that time of the essence, and you have to use it wisely. Also, I now know that life is no joke, and you have to determine what is worth the stress and what is not. So when it comes to being an opinion leader or information follower, I chose the latter.

Look, I don't have the time or energy to analyze each situation and form an opinion, only to debate it on social media with random people. Instead, I prefer to find opinion leaders or influencers who share my same interests and viewpoints and trust their perspectives on mass media messages.

For example, when it comes to politics and the current political campaign, I like to follow political strategist and commentator Angela Rye because I believe we share the same viewpoints. As a result, when she shares information about politics or social issues, like this video, I trust her opinion and take it on as my own.

This is also true when it comes to all things Beyoncé. A a matter of fact, you can just call me Seyoncé because I am that much of an enthusiast. So yes, this means that I have Beyoncé's social media page set to send me notifications when she posts. Thus, when I see a post like this one, where Beyonce is sharing the information she gathered and analyzed on veganism, I trust it.

It doesn't stop there. I love to follow various bloggers and blogs that share their opinion on information they've gathered from the mass media. For instance, I enjoy reading blogs from the HuffPost like this one or an entertainment news blog like this from Buzzfeed. I trust both blogs to provide me with accurate information needed on the topic.

Well, I'm sure you know my answer to my leading question by now, but just in case I wasn't clear, the answer is to follow.

Until next time, peace! ✌️

xo, Sequoia
